INTRERNATIONAL COLLECTORS’ SOCIETY OF RARE ITEMS, PUNE
International Collectors’ Society of Rare Items, Pune was formed as ‘Collectors Club’ in 1995 with only 7 members and has grown to 243 Life Members. Our members hail from all age groups, layers and cadres of the society having more than 100 different collecting interests e.g. Philately, Numismatic and other collectibles like Picture Post Cards, Pencils, Pens, Nibs, Ball Pens, Cassettes, Video Tapes, LP/EP Gramophone Records, Tape Recorders, Wrist Watches, All types of Clocks, Airplane Models, Miniature Railways and Ship Models, Playing Cards, Telephone Cards, Minerals, Gem Stones, Bottles, Perfume and Wine Miniature Bottles, Plants, Seeds, Autographs & Autograph Pictures of Famous Personalities, Crockery, Recipes, Bangles, Dolls, Caps, Wrappers, Greeting Cards, Wedding Cards, Cinema-Bus-Air-Railway Tickets, Old Documents, Artifacts, Maps, Lapel Pins, Olympic Medal Collections, Matchboxes and Labels, Fossils and Drift Wood are just to name a few.
The Society is active in promoting hobbies since last 24 years and in accordance with the Society’s motto “KNOWLEDGE THROUGH HOBBIES”, and to encourage the hobby of collection, specially the younger generation, the Society has conducted 49 Different Exhibitions displaying items of different subjects with minute detailing of each item. Every alternate year we are conducting Philatelic & Numismatic competitive exhibitions on National Level, since 2000.
All our exhibitions are free for all, which is our first objective of dispensing knowledge of our culture and heritage and we take utmost care that we are passing on the correct and detailed information of the subject which is essential to enhance the knowledge of the viewer.
Society has conducted Nine ‘COINEX-PUNE’ Numismatic Exhibitions and Seven ‘STAMPEX-PUNE’ Philatelic Exhibitions. The Society has formed the Marking System & Rules for competitive Numismatic Exhibitions first time in India. Now they are being followed almost everywhere in India.
The Society has a pride of having TWO of our members GUINNESS RECORD and FORTY FIVE adorning the coveted LIMCA BOOK OF RECORDS.
The Society has also published Five books on Numismatic & Philately and is constantly trying to assist the numerous collectors in providing different article, essays and write ups from eminent & renowned personality through the souvenirs which are published at the time of exhibitions.
The Society intends to have a permanent museum in Pune for the benefit of everyone associated with this field.
